Accommodation, Restaurants, Attractions, Activities and information Nairn area

Situated on the west coast of the Moray Firth, Nairn is located just a few miles from Inverness and Loch Ness, and only 6 miles from Inverness airport. This spa town, a holiday resort dating back to Victorian times, has miles of beautiful sandy beaches and its own harbour; home to the resident dolphin population. The three famous castles of Cawdor, Brodie and Stuart are close by, as is the Culloden Battlefield, the artillery fortress of Fort George, and the Standing Stones and Clava Cairns located just 1.5 miles from Nairn.

Other attractions include the Strathspey Steam railway, Culbin Sands RSPB Nature Reserve, and of course the famous Loch Ness. There are also plenty of sporting opportunities in and around Nairn, including two championship golf courses, a sports centre, two swimming pools, riding, cricket, fishing and walking.

An excellent choice of accommodation from castles to camping, and just about everything in between, makes Nairn the ideal choice for your Highland base.
